Liesel Meminger- Book Thief

Liesel Meminger is a very mysterious and confused character in the "Book Thief" but it is also what makes you want to read more and more and as you read more Markus Zusak spills information about her life and everyone around like blood from a weeping cut. I have learnt so far about Liesel that her father died because his plane crashed(page 10), also her )brother died on the train ride on the to the orphanage that their mother was taking them too (page 8) those are two times death has seen her so far in this book, although this book is set in world war 2 it isn't all sad it makes you wonder about what happens next and feeds you a teaspoon at a time and you don't notice it happening that slowly because Markus Zusak describes everything so that it you have a movie in your mind and there is no stop button. I have also learnt about her that she moved in with her two Foster Parents Rosa and Hans (page 19) and it wasn't easy for her to move into the neighborhood because everyone knew each other since they were born, I also know that she loves her foster father Hans because he'll wait with her in her room because she can't sleep because she has nightmares about her brother's death he will play music to her and he taught her how to read and write. When she was settled into the neighbor hood she created a friendship with a boy called Rudy and she didn't realize it at the time but they would know each other for a long time. I found the passage on page 9 very moving and, as it moved me it also pushed a message across, that message was a mixture of sad and shock.
